    David Scott Portnoy was born in Swampscott, Massachusetts, on March 22, 1977.  He was brought up in a Jewish family. His father, Michael, was a lawyer, and another, Linda, was a schoolteacher. He is famous for his one-of-a-kind sense of humor and straightforward approach.

    Portnoy attended Swampscott High School. Later, he graduated from the University of Michigan in 1999 with a degree in education. ESPN’s Todd McShay was his classmate at the University. 

    While studying at Michigan, Portnoy started thegamblingman.com, where he used to publish his sports betting picks. Afterward, he relocated to Boston and served at IT market research firm Yankee Group.

    Does David Portnoy own High Noon?

    Yes, but not exactly as the hike created; however, it is the media partnership of David Portnoy with High Noon. As per the deal, Barstool Sports’ flagship programs will entertain High Noon and also be personally supported by Dave Portnoy, President of Barstool Sports, and CEO Erika Nardini. 

    Portnoy stated that the packaging (the can)  and the taste of High Noon products piqued me to partner with High Noon. It’s so refreshing to taste and made with real vodka; it amazed me. So, he decided to introduce this brand to his fans.”

    Furthermore, it is a win-win media partnership for both brands. High Noon is the top-selling spirits-based Hard Seltzer brand made with Real Vodka and Juice. Barstool Sports is undoubtedly leading the industry in engaging genuine content with unique traffic of around 66 million visitors per month.

    High Noon partnered with Barstool Sports and started collaborating earlier this year. Both companies came to the next step to leverage the fan following of both brands and resources to maximize the marketing of High Noon.

    As reported by Celebrity Net Worth, Portnoy has a net worth of $150 million as of September 2023. After graduation, Portnoy moved to Boston, where he founded Barstool Sports as a print sports publication blog in 2003.

    Barstool includes podcasts and radio shows such as Pardon My Take, BFFs, and Call Her Daddy. It was presented by David Portnoy and his co-host Josh Richards until 2021.

    Penn Entertainment is a sports content creator and casino operator originally based in Pennsylvania. Initially, in 2020, it bought a 36% stake in Barstool Sports for a deal of $163 million. Later, the company acquired all the remaining stakes for $388 million in February 2023. 

    So, Penn invested a capital worth of a total of $551 million into Barstool Sports. Portnoy likely had made hundreds of millions from his deal with Penn Entertainment and now owns 100% of Barstool stakes again. Portnoy has many other businesses and income streams.
